For Cindy Sheehan, It's always something

Crazy Cindy Sez:

The War on Terror: "When I was growing up, it was Communists'. Now it's Terrorists'. So you always have to have somebody to fight and be afraid of"

You're correct, Cindy. When you were in your youth (I am by no means sure that you ever "grew up"), the Communists, primarily in the form of the Soviet Union, was a threat to our existence. They built tanks and bombers and warships with which to kill our soldiers. They spied on our country. They enslaved people in distant lands and were willing to go to war with us if we tried to intervene. They sent assassins around the world to murder those who escaped their regime. The Communists were our enemy. Even a window-licker like yourself has to understand that.

You're also correct that the primary threat in the current time is Terrorism.

Good and Evil will always be with us. That's the way the universe is. Adults understand that we will never live in a world in which everyone loves the US and no one wants to do us harm. There will always be some angry little ass-nugget, sitting in a mud hut in some sun-baked desert, who thinks "Damn those evil Americans! I must sit here sweating in the mid-day heat because THEY have air-conditioners. I am forced to walk five miles to the nearest well to get water because THEY have cars and supermarkets. WRONG Abdul! Three hundred years ago, your great, great, great grandfather lived in a hut just like yours and walked the same distance across the same parched desert to get to the oasis, at a time when the USA didn't even exist. The bottom line is that you want what we have and you're willing to kill us to get it.

Cindy, President Bush didn't kill your son, a terrorist did. We will always have someone to fight and be afraid of. Be thankful there are brave men and women like Casey who do the heavy lifting and endure the suffering and the dying. Without them, you'd be wearing a burka and be barred from appearing in public, let alone speaking in public. Growing up is a difficult and sometimes painful experience. Please get out of the public spotlight, complete the process of achieving adulthood and then get on with your life, quietly, in private. The rest of us will move on, curing diseases, growing the food the world eats and killing the bad guys (who will always be there).
