Cindy Sheehan - A Moment of Private Grief

Cindy Sheehan - A Moment of Private Grief

source

The world was treated to images of Cindy Sheehan in a private moment, grieving for her son, kneeling before a cross, presumably atop her son's grave. A friend caresses her brow in an effort to comfort her, as a few other close personal friends stand by.

This was the real picture. This cross had a name on it. But the name was not Casey Sheehan, it read "Hilario Lopez". There was no grave. It was all a staged event, complete with props (crosses, flowers and American flags). They even posed the scene with Cindy facing the sun (for the photographers' benefit, since the pictures didn't come out well when she did her act earlier that same day) although that meant that none of the names on the crosses would be visible. For some reason, they turned around the crosses in the front row where which she was crouching. Please take note of the numerous boom-mics, poised to capture any sobs she might be able to dredge up.

Cindy Sheehan can summon tears and a pained, grief-stricken expression on command. The drop of a hat, the sound of a pen scratching against paper as a check is being written, the click of a camera's shutter; that's all she needs to get the water-works going. Sheehan staged this private moment of grief for public consumption. When the cameramen were gathered at the appropriate spots, in a semi-circle centered around the props, Sheehan and Al Sharpton were notified and they made their way to the event holding hands as the he was comforting her in her moment of loss. Cindy knelt down by the props, sobbed a little for the cameras and was "comforted" by her handlers until everybody ran out of film or tape. It was that cold-hearted and cynical. Army Spc. Casey Sheehan, 1st Battalion, 82nd Field Artillery Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas, Purple Heart, Bronze Star, deserves better. Much better.

Where's the rock Cindy? Pick up the phone, order the headstone, put it on your American Express card.

Your "Moment of Private Grief - Cindy Sheehan Style" routine is as disgusting and vile as your disdain for your country ("America has been killing people on this continent since it was started. This country is not worth dying for...") and your outright obsessive hatred for our President (she said Bush was a "bigger terrorist than Osama bin Laden ever thought he would be." source). If you absolutely MUST tear out your hair and beat your breast in public, please allow me to offer you the vice-grips and claw-hammer that are sitting on my workbench in the garage.

But to be fair, we gotta give her credit...three shows a day ain't easy. A girl gets dehydrated, kapeesh?
