Cindy Sheehan Abandons fast, buries ovaries in Texas
Source
08/12/06 - 37 days!!! On Friday, August 11, "on doctors orders", Cindy Sheehan ended her liquid
diet which she had vowed to maintain until all the troops were brought home from Iraq! Sheehan had restarted
her traditional August camping trip in Crawford, Texas. She arrived there on Sunday, August 6, but when only 50
headcases showed up to join her, she flew to Seattle just four days later, in hopes of luring a few deserters
back to Texas to boost the numbers there. It is unknown if any of them thought that camping in 100 degree heat
without electricity or running water was better than staying home in their apartments watching TV while waiting
for the authorities to knock on the door. Having collected her $2,500 fee and spoken to the massive crowd of
about 300 anti-war veterans, Crazy Cindy caught a plane back to Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport the
very next day, Friday.
Sheehan was treated at a Seattle emergency room on Thursday night following her appearance at the rally and
released shortly afterward. After being picked up by friends at the airport in Dallas, her symptoms returned
and Sheehan was driven to Waco, where she was admitted to Providence Health Center source.
Sheehan said that the dehydration was probably not due to her liquid diet "fast", but rather the result of
uterine bleeding. Doctors treated her condition by performing a Dilation and Curettage and giving her a blood
transfusion.
Oddly, Sheehan's whirlwind trip to Seattle coincided with the emergence of internet rumors that she had had
an adulterous affair, prior to her being divorced by Patrick Sheehan, with Lew Rockwell source.
This story runs in direct contradiction to long-established rumors that Sheehan might be a lesbian.
This has been a month of failure and disappointment for Crazy Cindy. President Bush arrived at his ranch near
Crawford on August 3 and Cindy couldn't get to her newly-purchased patch of dirt until the 6th, three days later.
Sheehan will remain in the hospital until Sunday morning and the President returned to the White House on Saturday,
August 12th. She will have been in Crawford for three days while the President was at his ranch. Her "fast", which
was widely ridiculed because it included ice cream and smoothies, ended at 37 days with the troops not yet brought
home. She flew to Jordan and was unable to end the civil strife in Iraq. Only a small band of window-lickers showed
up to support her in Crawford. For all she accomplished, Cindy might just as well have stayed home in Berkeley.
