Cindy Sheehan and Joan Baez
source
Not everyone remembers Joan Baez. No one anyone under the age of 25 has any idea who she is. Let's face it; she's
older than dirt and more irrelevant than the muffler bearings on your car. But for Cindy, Joan represents a link
to the aging lefties who led the anti-war protests of the 60's. For Baez, the trip to Crawford was a chance to
escape from the shadows of obscurity and once again bask in the spotlight. She really couldn't rail against the
war in Iraq on her own, since no one other than a few commies in nursing homes would have any idea who she was.
Hooking up with Cindy connected Baez to the present. After hooking up with Cindy in Texas, Baez re-joined her in
the nation's Capitol for a march with Jesse Jackson (who probably wondered who the grey-haired midget was).
In this pic, Joan seems to be reacting to a joke someone has told, while Cindy seems to be looking for something
she's lost. They're on the stage together...but they're not sharing the moment.
